Waldorf school Graz, Austria

I love this little library with a small stove in the middle:

Here I have spent three days, at the handwork teachers conference with Ita Lernpeiss.
I don't need to say that I have learned a lot and that I can't wait to start teaching handwork again.

Here are some examples of students work and some ideas and new techniques:

cross stiched bags

intertwined string

I simply love this cat panda - student's work

Kindergarten graduation

Good luck in your lives, children. May the rainbow always be with you ... and see you in school ;)

Baby blanket

I will knit 12 squares and sew them into a baby blanket. Almost half of the knitting is done.

The big day in our kindergarten

Tomorrow is a big day in the kindergarten. Children who will go to school in autumn have prepared a celebration for friends and families. After their program all kids will play different games and all parents have prepared small gifts for them.

I have wrapped spinning buttons in fabric and tied a satin ribbon around.

Rainbow necklace

I have tried to make a rainbow necklace.

This is the first attempt. Come back and check the second attempt.

Peg doll: a pirate

I will make a whole pirate family (with the pirate queen) and my husband will make a simple wooden pirate boat.

Guess who is the primary pirate in our house? ;)

Homemade sesame bread

Mmmmm. I made a sunflower's seeds spread and my husband baked some sesame bread.

Bees mobile

This is a surprise gift for our kindergarten teacher at the end of the school year. The bees will be tied on a wooden ring so they will fly around freely.

Kindergarten kids on excursion

Only few more days and long summer vacation comes. We went to the mountains together and we walked and walked and walked. But not in vain. Every kid was rewarded by some magic gift that was hidden in the basket on the tree.

We have tried to make the walking fun. There were many hard-to-belive-the-size leaves of the "repuh" plant (Lat. Petasites hybridus). We folded them and pierced them with a small branch and evey child (and even some fathers or mothers) got an interesting hat ...

My first cherry strudel

The picture of the strudel was taken before being put into oven. I tell you - it was great! I had some strange respect for this kind of dough (btw, how is it called in English? one stretches it over the table with hands) but my mom taught me as she was taught by her mother. Will my boys want me to teach them?

It is great also with peaches, blueberries  - not to mention apples.

I wish I took a picture of a slice but there is no use crying over spilt milk. Next time and you are all invited :)

Puppet show "Four musicians"

Yesterday we watched this puppet show. The players invited audience to come to the stage, like into the barrel organ. And we sang a lot.
